Lyrics: What's Cookin'?

Hello, Hooray

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

Hello, (Clap, clap,) hooray (Clap, clap, )
We’re gettin’ ready to start our day (Clap, clap,)
Here’s a few things we need to say

Hello, (Clap, clap,) hooray (Clap, clap, )
We’re gettin’ ready to start our day (Clap, clap,)
Here’s a few things we need to say (Clap, clap,)
Before we start and get on our way
Hello, hello, hello, hooray.

Before you sit down you need to wiggle around.
You need to march and move and feel the groove.
Shake your head, Clap your hands
Now where ever you land,
Find your own space and sit down in that place. (Now sit down.)

Hello, (Clap, clap,) hooray (Clap, clap,)
We’re gettin’ ready to start our day (Clap, clap,)
Here’s a few things we need to say
Before we start and get on our way
Hello, hello, hello, hooray.

If something is funny or silly or great
You can laugh with your friends, you don’t have to wait.
We sit on our bottoms with our hands in our lap.
But don’t forget when you need to clap (clap, clap, clap)

Hello, (Clap, clap,) hooray (Clap, clap, )
Now we’re ready to start our day (Clap, clap,)
And we’ve said all the things we need to say
It’s time to start and get on our way
Hello, hello, hello, hooray.

Rise Up

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

Rise up, rise up, we’re gonna rise up singing
And we shout good morning
Come what may.
Rise up, rise up, we’re gonna rise up singing
And we shout good morning
It’s a brand new day.

Read your book and then it’s time for bed
Listen to a story as you lay down your head.
Off to dreamland ‘cause the day is done.
Then comes morning, and we’re up with the sun.

Rise up, rise up, we’re gonna rise up singing
And we shout good morning
Come what may.
Rise up, rise up, It’s time to rise up singing
And we shout good morning
It’s a brand new day.

Running, walking, tip toe round the bend.
Read a story to your very best friend.
Picture books or chapter books, big or small
Books can take us anywhere at all.

when we Rise up, rise up, we’re gonna rise up singing
And we shout good morning
Come what may.
Rise up, rise up, It’s time to rise up singing
And we shout good morning
It’s a brand new day.

What’s Cookin’?

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

What’s Cookin’ at the library? What’s Cookin’ at the library?
What’s Cookin’ at the library? What’s Cookin’ at the library?
Look what’s cookin’ at the library right now?

Take the letters from the alphabet and shake ‘em in a cup.
Add some paper and some binding and mix ‘em all up.
Add a library card, and that’s all you need
That’s the recipe for a library read.

One action or adventure book in the sun
Add a joke book or two to add some fun.
Stir them all together, whenever you need
That’s the recipe for a library read.

Let’s go down and take a look.
Mystery or history will get you hooked.
Let’s go down and take a look.
The library is cookin’ with all of those books.

Mix it up, stir it up in the pot. Mix it up, stir it up in the pot.
Mix it up, stir it up in the pot. Sizzling hot.

What’s Cookin’ at the library? What’s Cookin’ at the library?
What’s Cookin’ at the library? What’s Cookin’ at the library?
Look what’s cookin’ at the library right now?

I LOVE MY APPLES

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2006 All rights reserved

I love my apples, I love ‘em baked in a pie.
I love my apples, I love ‘em piled up high
I love my apples, I love ‘em everyway.
I love my apples, every day.
I love my apples, I love ‘em baked in a crust
I love my apples, applesauce is a must.
I love my apples, I love ‘em everyway
I love my apples, every day
I love ‘em in the spring time
I love ‘em in the fall
I really love my apples, I’m gonna eat ‘em all
Green or red or yellow. Tart or crisp or sweet.
I’m only really happy, as long as I can eat
All of my apples, I’ll have some juice to drink.
Or maybe cider. Tell me what do you think?
I love my apples, I love ‘em everyway
I love my apples, every day.
I love my apples, every day.

Gonna make some vegetable soup.
Put zucchini, chop, chop, chop. Broccoli, chop, chop, chop. onions, chop, chop, chop.
Gonna make some vegetable soup.

DELECTABLE FRUIT

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2006 All rights reserved

I like some fruit. I eat delicious fruit.
Give me some fruit. Some delightful fruit.
Some from the tree some from the vine.
It brings me sunshine all of the time.
I eat my fruit. My delectable fruit.
My bananas start the day. I eat the kiwi right away.
I save the Mango for the night.
And tangerine in the moonlight.
I try the melon or the pear
sitting out in the evening air.
I eat my fruit, my delectable fruit.
Give me some fruit. I eat delicious fruit.
I like that fruit. That delightful fruit.
Some from the tree some from the vine.
It brings me sunshine all of the time.
I eat my fruit. My delectable fruit.
Now for citrus I’ve got lime.
I eat the orange all the time.
I peel my grapes when I want sweet.
Pineapple’s also good to eat.
I chew the cherries, oh so red.
Strawberries, too. Right before bed.
I eat my fruit. My delectable fruit.
Grapefruit, it’s a little sour.
Apples, I eat them on the hour.
Peaches give me extra power through the day.
Apricot it’s so very nice.
Watermellon, it’s so good on ice.
Cantelope, full of vitamin A.
Give me some fruit. I eat delicious fruit.
I like that fruit. Some delightful fruit.
Some from the tree some from the vine.
It brings me sunshine all of the time.
I eat my fruit. My delectable fruit.

Be My Friend

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

What I want to say, be my friend today
Hold my hand, while we go on together
We can share our toys, we can make some noise
Hold my hand, while we go on together

We can make great sounds as we march around
Hold my hand, while we go on together
We can really try as we jump up high
Hold my hand, while we go on together

What I want to say, be my friend today
Hold my hand, while we go on together
We can wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, we can laugh and giggle.
Hold my hand, while we go on together

I won’t take a peek during hide and seek
Hold my hand, while we go on together
We can sing and play as we shout hooray
Hold my hand, while we go on together

What I want to say, be my friend today
Hold my hand, while we go on together
We can laugh and shout, we can jump about
Hold my hand, while we go on together
Hold my hand, while we go on together

Birthday Party

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

Let’s all bake a birthday cake. Hey, hey hey (4x’s)

I’ve got a birthday,
You’ve got a birthday, she’s got a birthday, too.
I’ve got a birthday. We all have birthdays.
Now I want to have a party with you.

We jump up and down for every day of the year
We dance and we clap. Shout a big birthday cheer.
We shake a little, shake a little, shake it a lot.
Movin’ and a groovin’, and the party is hot.

I’ve got a birthday,
You’ve got a birthday; he’s got a birthday, too.
I’ve got a birthday. We all have birthdays.
Now I want to have a party with you.

In the winter we can party with some fun in the snow
Springtime we can dance and watch the flowers grow
Summer birthdays party with a splash at the pool
Autumn leaves are fallin’ and the party is cool.

Birthday Party, birthday party, birthday party
Happy Birthday baby, yeah yeah yeah

We party with a cake and watch the candles glow
We’re dancin’ and we’re movin’
with the friends that we know.
We make a birthday wish and when we start to blow
Happy birthday music, what a rock and roll show.
I’ve got a birthday,
You’ve got a birthday; We have a birthday, too.
I’ve got a birthday. We all have birthdays.
Now I want to have a party with you.
Yes I want to have a party with you.

Lovely Day

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

I was walking along on a lovely day
Looking for a present to give away
Looking at the trees and the grass so green
The prettiest flowers I’ve ever seen.
I was walking along on a lovely day
I stepped into a little shop and started to say:
“I need a present. A special present, please.
And how about you?
Can you think of something that is special, too?”
So we looked around the shop, on this lovely day and
I was just about to leave when someone started to say,
“I’d like some bubbles?
Some floating bubbles, please.
And how about you?
Would your very dear friend like some bubbles, too?”
So we put it in a bag, on this lovely day and I was just about to leave when someone started to say
“I want a puppy, a cuddley puppy, please.
And how about you?
Would your very dear friend like a puppy, too?”
So we wrapped him in a bow, on this lovely day and I was just about to leave when someone started to say,
“I’ll have a cupcake, with sprinkles, please.
And how about you?
Would your very dear friend like a cupcake, too?”
So we put it in a box, on this lovely day and I was just about to leave when someone started to say,

“Look at the sunshine. I’ll have some sunshine please
And how about you?
A sprinkle of rain will have to do.”
‘Cause if you put it all together on a lovely day
you just might see a rainbow pass your way
And what a lucky present…. on this lovely day.

The Park

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

We’re walking to the park, walking to the park,
Walking, walking, walking to the park.
We’re walking to the park, walking to the park,
Walking, walking, walking to the park.
We’re crunching on the leaves, crunching on the leaves,
Crunching, crunching, crunching on the leaves.
I see a big pile of leaves. What should we do?
We jump in them, we jump in them, we jump and we jump and we jump in them.
Oh no. I’m covered with leaves from my head to my toes.
We have to shake the leaves off, we have to shake the leaves off. Shake the leaves off, we have to shake the leaves off.
Now we’re walking to the park, walking to the park
Walking, walking, walking to the park.
There’s a big puddle of mud. What should we do?
Let’s jump in it…
We have to shake the mud off.
I see the park
Let’s go to the swing. Swing up swing back…
I see the slide. Climbing up the ladder higher and higher all the way until we get up to the top.
Let’s go on the merry–go-round. Round and round on the merry go round we go up we go down on the Merry-go-round. Round and round on the Merry-go-round we go up we go down on the Merry-go-round.
Drip drop drip drop I feel the rain drop drip drop
Catch it on your tongue, tip toe between the raindrops
Thunder, Lightning. Thunder, lighting, run home faster and faster. We made it all the way home and now the sun has come out and I see a rainbow.

LUNCH TIME BLUES

Words Jon Garon and Wendy Rose Baldinger
Music by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P Wendy Rose Baldinger 1991

It's early in the morning and time to go to school
I've got my backpack ready ‘cause you know I ain’t a fool
What do you think I see as I'm waitin‚ for my ride?
I see my lunch box ready
So I slip my hand inside
I've got the lunchtime blues, lunchtime blues
Morning, noon and nighttime got the Lunch time blues
I've got the lunch time blues, lunch time blues
Every times the right time for the lunchtime blues, lunch time blues

I'm sittin‚ by the T.V. a lazy afternoon
I'm thinkin‚ about my dinner but I know it's still too soon
I try to think of something so I get up on my feet
Then the announcer says it's time to get yourself a treat
I've got the lunchtime blues, lunchtime blues
Morning, noon and nighttime got the Lunch time blues
I've got the lunch time blues, lunch time blues
Every times the right time for the lunch time blues, lunch time blues

My momma says it's bedtime about a half past eight
I quickly get my pj's on I know I shouldn‚t wait
My stomach starts to growl there's pizza on my mind
I step into the kitchen to see what I can find.
I've got the lunchtime blues, lunch time blues
Morning, noon and nighttime got the lunchtime blues
I've got the lunchtime blues, lunchtime blues
Every times the right time for the lunchtime blues, lunch time blues
Every times the right time for the lunchtime blues, lunch time blues

Hip Hop Stop

Music and Lyrics by Wendy Rose Baldinger
C & P 2008 All rights reserved

Hip Hop you oughta stop When you start feeling full.
Hip Hop you oughta stop before you lose your cool.
Hip Hop you oughta stop When you start feeling full.

When there’s too much food at the meal
Eat real slow and think of how you feel
You can always wait and have some later
Just wrap it up in the refrigerator. I say…

Hip Hop you oughta stop When you start feeling full.
Hip Hop you oughta stop before you lose your cool.
Hip Hop you oughta stop When you start feeling full.

I know another snack will come my way
I can always get a taste on a different day
I don’t have to finish every crumb
‘cause when I’m feelin’ full I’m done. I say now…

Hip Hop I have to stop when I start feeling full.
Hip Hop I have to stop before I lose my cool.
Hip Hop we oughta stop when we start feeling full.

When your mom says “Honey, my oh my
You didn’t eat your carrots so no pumpkin pie.”
Your dad says you didn’t even clean your plate
You might say folks, “I’d rather wait.”

Yeah, Yeah Yeah
Hip Hop we oughta stop when we start feeling full.
Hip Hop we oughta stop when we start feeling full.
Hip Hop we oughta stop when we start feeling full.
